February is the month that I always find myself getting ill! This February was no different to normal years, and after getting a 48-hour stomach bug, followed by a horrid cold, I remembered to practice what I preach- and take care of myself! Here is some helpful advice in case you find yourself getting ill too.. 1~ Hydrate... This is so so important. I tell you to drink water before and after treatments as this can help to flush through the toxins that are released during massage/reflexology. Water is key to health and wellbeing, and it is needed for everything to function well in the body. You can get your water intake from anything from soups, to herbal teas. Try Echinacea tea to try and boost your immune system. 2~Chill out... Stress can cause colds and flu, so whenever you are feeling run down, try to chill out and reduce your stress. This is where reflexology can be helpful! During a reflexology session your body relaxes, and this gives it time to replenish and start fixing what is broken. 3~ Wash your hands... This one is so obvious, but also so often forgotten. Germs are easily spread through touching communal surfaces, and can then get into your system by biting nails or rubbing eyes. 4~ Nutrition and vitamins... What you eat can really have an impact on your health and wellbeing. Foods that are full of nutrients can enable your immune system to work properly, and make you feel tip top! Elderberries are rich in antioxidant vitamin C and Echinacea is a great natural protector. 5~ Look after yourself! Take exercise, have enough rest and sleep, and take time to look after yourself.
