On the weekend I went on a 3 day course on “Orthopedic reflexology” with Spiros Dimitrakoulas who came all the way from Athens. He runs a fascinating clinic there working with sports players and manual labourers. It was a deep dive into the anatomy of the feet and lower legs, learning all about the different bones, ligaments, muscles, fascia and tendons.
We looked at various foot conditions and how to alleviate the pain that comes with them. We learnt an in depth method of how to help ease plantar fasciitis, and how to assist those living with hammer toes. The teacher was truly inspiring and has reignited my passion and made me want to learn even more. The lovely thing about reflexology is you never stop learning. I’m excited to bring some of the new techniques into my treatments.
