Maternity Reflexology
I am a fully qualified maternity reflexologist and have a lot of experience in this area. I have helped a lot of ladies throughout their pregnancy journeys. Reflexology can help:
Although maternity reflexology is available as a home visit, it is better to come to my studio where I can set it up for you to be as comfortable as you can be. If you do require a home visit, please find a quiet space in your house where you can be seated upright, in an armchair or a sofa, with your feet raised up on something in front of you.
I myself have used reflexology throughout both of my pregnancies and have seen how beneficial and effective it can be.
Pregnancy cancellations: when an appointment must be cancelled due to the onset of labour, please call, text or email as soon as you can, and let me know that you will be unable to attend.
- Women and men trying to conceive: I work on balancing the hormones to create the correct body ecology for ovulation. I work on the endocrine system and reproductive system whilst focusing on relaxing the body.
- Second and third trimester: reflexology can help with the discomfort sometimes felt during pregnancy, especially in the final trimester. I work to relieve back ache and tension in the body, ease digestive system issues, help sleep problems and balance hormones among other things. I tend not to work on clients in the first trimester. The best time to start having your reflexology treatments is from week 14, right up until the end.
- Last stages of pregnancy: Reflexology is recommended to help prepare the body for a natural labour. If it is a labour preparation treatment you are after, it is best to have 2 "regular" treatments before if you have not been having reflexology throughout your pregnancy- so start having treatments around week 35/36. This will enable the body to start preparing for labour and to relax fully. Then the more intense labour encouraging techniques can be carried out around your due date. I normally recommend having 2-3 treatments in the week leading up to your due date.
- Post-natal: To help your body return to homeostasis and get the correct balance of hormones again

"I went to see Georgie at the end of my pregnancy for general relaxation but also for getting ready for my baby's birth. Her sessions were total bliss, so relaxing and calming and she did a fantastic job working on some problem areas such as my pelvic pain. I could feel the benefits of her treatment straight away! I had plans to see Georgie regularly in the lead up to my birth but as soon as she did a session working on my reproductive system to prep my body for birth, I went into labour on the same day and our baby boy was born the following day. I can't recommend Georgie enough- her treatment is a wonderful way to steal an hour of perfect peace and relaxation, focusing on you and your well being. I have never done any reflexology before this pregnancy but I am a definite convert and I will back once we have adjusted to our new little addition!"
