I studied the Baby & Toddler Reflex course after developing an interest in reflexology for babies since having my own children, and after many of my clients had asked me for tips and techniques to use on their own babies. The course was fascinating, and really emphasised how effective it could be to practice reflexology on your baby or toddler. Baby reflex can be taught to parents 1-1 or in groups of maximum 6 parents/caregivers and their babies during 3-4 sessions over the course of as many weeks. Toddler reflex is better taught 1-1, and can be done over one to three sessions.
The Baby Reflex course is split into 3 modules and we look at Wellbeing, Sleep and Comforting and Feeding and Digestion. In each module you will learn a set of techniques to help with many common issues that arise in babies. You can start the course from when your baby is 4 weeks old right up to when they become more mobile, which is when we move on to Toddler Reflex. It's a lovely course to do to help you bond with your baby and so that you can incorporate these techniques into your baby's routine.
The Toddler Reflex course is taught on the hands, alongside a series of nursery rhymes. It's a lovely calming thing to do with your toddler, not necessarily before bed, but at any time of the day, to help with soothing and calming them down. I've personally witnessed how effective these routines can be with my toddler, who now often offers me his hand and says "Twinkle?".
What's great is that these techniques can be used anywhere and at any time- you just need access to your baby's hands or feet- nothing else! They can even be used to help with ear popping on flights.
