I am beginning this week with a spring in my step, and a renewed passion for reflexology, having taken part in a wonderful course over the weekend!
The course was in ART (Advanced Reflexology Technique) which was founded by Tony Porter who decided to start training reflexologists 15 years ago as he believed that reflexology was becoming more and more "spa-like" and just like a "foot massage" so people weren't able to realise its full potential. He explains that an absence of a painful reflex does not necessarily denote good health, and equally that pain in a reflex does not necessarily mean something is wrong. It is the "disturbances" in the texture of certain reflex areas that can mean something- and that is what we, as reflexologists, are looking for! It was so interesting to learn about Tony's approach to reflexology, and I even got to do lots of swaps on the course, so had a lot of treatment myself which was great. I would recommend the course to any reflexologists.

September has started, the sun is still shining and schools are back- making London feel busy again! Make sure you are keeping calm in the renewed sense of stress in the atmosphere. I have a busy September, with 2 courses coming up. The first is this weekend, and is training with Tony Porter, who has developed "ART" (Advanced Reflexology Technique.) The next course is in a couple of weeks time, and learning more about meridians and Chi. I love doing these courses and always feel like I have a refreshed passion for reflexology following them. I can't wait to share with you what I have learnt, and to bring something new to my treatments! Watch this space! |
