Over the Christmas break I went on safari in South Africa and to Mozambique. I revisited a place that is very special to me, called Garonga. This is where I had my first experience of reflexology at 8 years old. I was incredibly lucky to not only experience reflexology at such a young age, but to have it in such a magical place!
I had a massage in the lovely treatment room "Sala" during our stay over Christmas, and memories from my first treatment came flooding back to me. It's no surprise that this incredible treatment room had such a huge impact on my life, and gave me the passion to want to learn reflexology. It's such a relaxing environment, with open sides looking out onto the bush, and the sounds of nature all around you. It is rare that you can find a treatment room like this! In "Hakuna Matata"- my treatment room in the bottom of the garden in Putney- I have tried to recapture some of the elements from "Sala". It has a slight African influence where you can truly relax and unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of London.

Your description of your retreat sounds so beautiful. As a reflexologist it is important to look after our own needs. ....maybe I need to book a holiday!!many thanks for the push in the right direction.
